The NAF/NUF test scores alternatives based on their novelty, attractiveness or usefulness, and feasibility.

Executing the Method

  • Draw NAF/NUF Table

Draw a three column table with Novelty, Attractiveness, and Feasibility in the header.

  • List Alternatives

Have a high to moderate amount of alternatives. List all alternatives on the left side of the table.

  • Review and Score Alternatives

Review each of the alternatives and intuitively score all of these alternatives on Novelty, Attractiveness, and Feasibility, for example on a 1-5 scale.

  • Calculate and Select

Sum these scores for each alternative to get the total score per alternative and select the best scoring alternative(s).
